James began his career with KLD in 2018 with the opening of the office in Charlottesville, Virginia. He served as a Crash Technician and a Crash Technician Assistant prior to becoming a Field Operations Manager. Prior to joining the KLD team, James served 28 years in the fire/rescue field as a Lieutenant, Paramedic, and Hazmat Specialist. This prior experience, along with the loss of a brother in a vehicle crash, makes him very passionate about crash investigation work and the advancement of automobile safety. James holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Concord University and an Associate’s degree in Fire Science from J. Sargeant Reynolds College.
